How it works

Some songs can’t be found on Spotify.

They have to be made — out of the person, by the people who know them. No musical skill required, and no surprises on the way.

  1. A man in his sixties in a worn armchair, reading glasses on, typing on his phone with a family photo album open across his lap.

Step 1: Tell us about them

A few short questions: who it's for, what they're like, the moments you'd tell at the table. Type it, or tap the mic and just say it. Nothing is charged here.

  2. A woman in her fifties by a window wearing over-ear headphones, eyes closed, one hand resting on her chest as she listens.

Step 2: Listen before you decide

We write the words and record the song, then play you a piece of it. No card, nothing charged. If it isn't right, you walk away and that's the end of it.

  3. An older couple on a sofa, heads leaning together over a phone he is holding out in front of them both, her hand over her mouth as she listens.

Step 3: Unlock it, give it, keep it

Pay and the whole song is yours — a private page with their names in the title, the words following the vocal, and a copy to download. Press it to vinyl if you want it in the room forever.

Mum, I cannot stop crying. I got you a Songs of Us song for your birthday and I have listened to it 47 times since it arrived. It mentions the kitchen dance. It mentions the 2009 holiday. Things I didn't know I remembered. Play it when you get home tonight. I love you so much. 💜

Sarah I am absolutely sobbing. The kitchen dance 😭 How did it know?? I've played it four times already. Best birthday I've ever had. ❤️

Lads. I got my wife a Songs of Us song for our anniversary. She cried. I cried. The dog looked confused. The song mentioned our first flat, the broken boiler, and the night she stayed up with me when I lost my job. I genuinely don't know how it knew. Best money I have ever spent. Do it for someone you love.

Bro I did this for my mum's 70th. She stopped the room. Everyone was quiet. Then everyone was crying. 10/10.

Amara Osei

Just ordered one for my parents' anniversary after seeing this. Thank you David 😭

Questions

The things people ask first.

How does it work?

You answer a few short questions about the person and what you remember most — typing, or speaking them out loud. We turn your answers into lyrics, then into a fully produced song in the style and voice you chose. About two or three minutes later we play you a piece of it, free. You only pay if you want to keep it.

When will I receive it?

You'll hear a piece of your song about two or three minutes after you finish the questions — no card needed. Stay on the page and we'll play it to you as soon as it's ready. Paying unlocks the full recording to download, and you choose the speed at that point: within 7 days as standard, or within 24 or 6 hours.

Is the preview really free?

Yes. We write and record the song before we ask you for anything, and you hear a piece of it before you decide.

What if I'm not happy with it?

Reply to the delivery email and tell us what's not right. We'll rewrite and re-record it once, free of charge. If you still aren't happy after that, we'll refund you in full.

Who owns the finished song?

You do. Play it at an event, share it with family, keep a copy for good. We don't publish it or use it for anything without asking you first.

What happens to the story I share?

It's used to write your song and nothing else. We don't publish it, sell it, or show it to anyone outside the small team making your song. You can ask us to delete it once your song is delivered.

Will they know how it was made?

Only if you tell them. What they'll hear is a song about them, built from the things you chose to share.

Can I speak to somebody?

Yes. Email hello@songsofus.com and a person will reply, usually the same working day. If you'd rather we called you, say so and leave a number.

Still unsure? Email us and a person will answer, usually the same working day.

Trusted by thousands.

What people said afterwards, in their own words. We don’t edit these, and we don’t take the bad ones down.

She had to leave the room

Rated 5 out of 5July 2026

I did this for my mum's 70th and played it at her party. She got about a minute in and had to go and sit in the kitchen. Everyone followed her. Best money I have ever spent on a present.

It mentioned things I'd forgotten I'd told them

I filled in the questions in about five minutes on my phone. The song came back with the kitchen dance and the broken boiler in it. My wife genuinely does not know how it knew.

Hearing it first is what sold me

I was sceptical, if I'm honest. But you get to listen before you pay anything, so there was nothing to lose. I paid about ten seconds after the chorus started.

We played it at the funeral

Rated 5 out of 5June 2026

My brother arranged one for our dad. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. It is the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for our family.

Asked for one change and they redid it

Rated 5 out of 5May 2026

The first version got the tone slightly wrong for my dad — a bit too soft. I said so and they rewrote and re-recorded it the same day, no argument, no charge.

Worth it for the video of her face alone

Rated 4 out of 5May 2026

Filmed her listening to it for the first time. That clip is now the thing I'd save if the house was on fire. The song is lovely too.

Folake A.

Two minutes to tell us about them, then hear the song free. Some stories can only be sung.
